Get a simple formula to make even the most difficult conversation easier. Conversations will be short, specific, and on point. They won’t be personal. They will be actionable. You’ll be able to say what you want to say, when you want to say it, in a way that the other person can hear you and take action.

Keynote Speakers

Chester Elton
Prepare for the Orange (and we are not talking Denver Broncos orange). Chester Elton, co-author of The Orange Revolution will be headlining the 2012 CHRA Human Resources Conference on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Called the “apostle of appreciation,” Chester Elton is co-author of several widely successful leadership books including The Carrot Principle, The 24-Carrot Manager and The Invisible Employee to name a few.

Chester’s newest book, The Orange Revolution, highlights key traits found inside the world’s most stellar teams and exposes game-changing data from a study of 350,000 employees. Drawing on powerful research and case studies from leading teams at Zappos, Apple, The Blue Angels, Pepsi Bottling Company and numerous others, The Orange Revolution reveals that the true driver of exceptional success for great companies is not a genius CEO. Breakthrough success is driven by a particular breed of breakthrough team that generates its own momentum.

After researching the drivers of human performance for the last several decades, Chester Elton and co-author, Adrian Gostick, discovered a lot of what they theorized in the data. Quite simply, there is now definitive data showing the characteristics of the world’s best teams.

Using a wealth of specific stories from the breakthrough teams studied, The Orange Revolution reveals in detail how these teams operate and how managers can transform their own teams into such high performers by fostering stronger clarity of goals, greater trust among team members, more open and honest dialogue, stronger accountability for all team members and purpose-based recognition of team members’ contributions.

The remarkable stories told about these teams in action provide a simple and powerful step-by-step guide to taking your team to the breakthrough level, igniting the passion and vision to bring about an Orange Revolution. True teamwork produces results that can immediately increase productivity, engagement, loyalty, innovation and bottom-line results.

In his keynote address, Chester will share the four essential qualities of great teams. Learn how the team at Apple made the iPod dream a reality on the heels of a year in which Apple lost $816 million.

The release of the iPod has famously revolutionized the music business and that was exactly what Apple CEO Steve Jobs and the iPod team set out to do. The iPod team was focused on reinvention – building something that would not only outperform all competing products, but would entirely own the market space. And this dream was explicit; during the unveiling Steve Jobs clearly expressed the team’s vision to the media: “It will go down in history as a turning point for the music industry.” Apple’s dream was so vast that it changed how music was heard, sold, purchased and consumed including launching the platform of iTunes.

Then there is Pepsi Beverages Company, the bottling division of the drinks group, who wanted to create a thinner, lighter and more environmentally friendly plastic beverage bottle. After tinkering for six weeks to get the system working properly, it was one team member’s simple suggestion that made all the difference. Pepsi forecasts $7.5 million in annual plastic savings in Russia alone. The environmental benefit is also substantial. Pepsi has chosen not to patent this idea, but instead is willing to share the technologies with other companies.

The Orange Revolution illustrates the steps these teams took to conquer barriers, exceed expectations and overcome mediocrity through brilliant collaboration.

As a motivation expert has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Fast Company magazine and the New York Times and has been featured on CNN, ABC, “Money Matters,” MSNBC, National Public Radio and 60 Minutes. Chester has spoken to delighted audiences from Singapore to Seattle, Denver to Dubai and from Toronto to Istanbul. In 2005 he was the highest rated speaker at the SHRM national conference (Bill Cosby was the number two rated speaker).

Join us for this must-see presentation that introduces simple steps to inspiring an Orange Revolution in your organization through easy, prescriptive, outcome-based applications that can be implemented today. Registration opens October 1st. Last year the conference SOLD OUT so secure your place before it is too late!!!

Business Leaders Say:
